Lisa Zeffertt

Having discovered yoga over 12 years ago, I have practiced different styles of yoga and trained with different teachers in several countries throughout the years and practised it alongside my passion for aerial silks and other circus arts.

 

I have always enjoyed activities that were more demanding on my body and unfortunately, I didn't always listen to what my body truly needed. As a result of this, several years ago, I suffered a serious shoulder injury. After more than two years of treatments, I began to recover. It was the practice of yoga that ultimately helped me regain the use of my shoulder and rebuild my strength. 

Because of how much yoga helped me through the recovery process, I decided to become a yoga teacher in 2019 and completed my 200-hour European Yoga Alliance Professional Teacher Training program and am also a certified Yin Yoga Instructor.

Since then, I have provided many hours of individual and group classes both in-person and on Zoom.

Yoga has healed me in so many ways, including increased confidence, self-awareness and the ability to listen to my body and be gentle with it. I want to share the benefits of yoga with you, so I decided to create a yoga tribe for a sense of community. My experience with years of chronic pain and injury and recovery through yoga informs my teaching and my goal is to share this consciousness and body-awareness with you on your personal yoga journey. 

My philosophy is to teach people, not poses. Each body is different and has its own strengths and limitations. I want to make the poses accessible to everyone and build your self-confidence and strength.

 

Yoga is not one-size-fits-all.  Each pose can be adapted to your needs so that you can achieve the benefits of your practice.

Due to adverse weather conditions in the past month, we will be moving our classes to TRH Hotel in Mijas Pueblo, poolside with capacity for 10 people when the weather is good and indoor in the gym with capacity for 5 people on rainy days.  

 

Our gentle yoga classes will be moving indoors to Evo Pilates in La Cala, in the same building as Carrefour, in Bulevar de La Cala, unit 3, with capacity for 7 people. 

 

Our new yoga shala on a covered rooftop terrace in the heart of Mijas Pueblo is currently undergoing clearning due to the calima weather phenomenon, we hope to be able to begin our classes there by May, so you can enjoy the views looking out over Mijas Pueblo, Fuengirola and the Mediterranean Sea. 

Yoga hikes are currently suspended until the weather improves. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
